Nutmeg

CHOOSE

There are two forms of nutmeg. Common pre-ground nutmeg which is easy in use and inexpensive. However, whole nuts can be easily ground by a spice or coffee grinder. Whole nutmeg has a stronger taste and flavor. 

STORE

Keep whole nutmeg in an airtight container and store in a cool, dark and dry place. One more advantage of whole nuts is that they can be stored much longer.

It is not recommended to store pre-ground nutmeg at all. If you have some leftover powdered nutmeg, put it in an airtight container and keep it far from heat, light or moisture.
