DIRECTIONS
  1. Cook beef, chopped onion, and minced garlic in a medium skillet over medium heat, until browned. Drain fat. Add basil, brown sugar, 1 1/2 taps salt, tomatoes, oregano, and tomato paste. Stirring, cook for 30 min. 
  2. Preheat oven to 375° F (190° C).
  3. Pour water in a large pot. Add salt. Bring to a boil. Add noodles. Cook until al dente (5-8 min). Drain. 
  4. Mix beaten eggs, ricotta cheese, Parmesan, dried parsley, and 1 tsp salt in a bowl.
  5. In the bottom of a baking dish, layer 1/3 of the noodles. Cover the layer with 1/2 egg and cheese mixture, 1/2 of mozzarella, and 1/3 of sauce. Repeat. Top the lasagna with noodles and sauce. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. 
  6. Bake for 30 min. Allow the lasagna to stand for about 10 min. Serve and enjoy your American-style lasagna!
