DIRECTIONS
- Preheat oven to 375° F (190° C).
- Combine all-purpose flour and 3/4 cup of sugar.
- Whip egg whites with vanilla extract, cream of tartar, and salt in a separate bowl until medium-stiff peaks appear. Continuing to whip, add the remaining sugar. Fold in the flour mixture (one third at a time). Put into the tube pan.
- Bake for about 40 minutes until it springs back when you touch it. Cracks on the surface should look dry. When the cake is cool enough to handle, run a knife around the edge and invert it onto a plate. Enjoy your Classic Angel Food Cake!
