  1. Preheat oven to 375° F (190° C). 
  2. Combine all-purpose flour and 3/4 cup of sugar. 
  3. Whip egg whites with vanilla extract, cream of tartar, and salt in a separate bowl until medium-stiff peaks appear. Continuing to whip, add the remaining sugar. Fold in the flour mixture (one third at a time). Put into the tube pan.
  4. Bake for about 40 minutes until it springs back when you touch it. Cracks on the surface should look dry. When the cake is cool enough to handle, run a knife around the edge and invert it onto a plate. Enjoy your Classic Angel Food Cake!
