  1. Dissolve active dry yeast in water. Allow to stand for 3 minutes. Next, add yellow cake mix to the mixture. Add flour (1 cup), eggs, vegetable oil, and salt. Beat. Stir in more flour (5 cups). Prepare a work surface by flouring it. Knead the dough for 5 minutes. Then, place in a greased bowl. Turn to coat. Allow the dough to rise for 40 minutes, or until doubled in volume.
  2. Preheat the oven to 350° F (180° C/Gas mark 4). Prepare baking pans by greasing them.
  3. Punch down the dough. Divide into 2 parts. Lightly flour a work surface. Roll out the dough halves. Spread the dough with butter (1/2 cup). Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
  4. Roll up. Cut 1 1/2 inches thick using a dull knife. Transfer to the prepared baking pans. Let rise until doubled.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  6. To make the frosting, combine melted butter (1/4 cup), vanilla extract, and milk. Drizzle the Cinnamon Buns with the mixture. Serve and enjoy your homemade cinnamon buns!
