DIRECTIONS
- Dissolve active dry yeast in water. Allow to stand for 3 minutes. Next, add yellow cake mix to the mixture. Add flour (1 cup), eggs, vegetable oil, and salt. Beat. Stir in more flour (5 cups). Prepare a work surface by flouring it. Knead the dough for 5 minutes. Then, place in a greased bowl. Turn to coat. Allow the dough to rise for 40 minutes, or until doubled in volume.
- Preheat the oven to 350° F (180° C/Gas mark 4). Prepare baking pans by greasing them.
- Punch down the dough. Divide into 2 parts. Lightly flour a work surface. Roll out the dough halves. Spread the dough with butter (1/2 cup). Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
- Roll up. Cut 1 1/2 inches thick using a dull knife. Transfer to the prepared baking pans. Let rise until doubled.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until golden brown.
- To make the frosting, combine melted butter (1/4 cup), vanilla extract, and milk. Drizzle the Cinnamon Buns with the mixture. Serve and enjoy your homemade cinnamon buns!
