  1. Mix beef, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, breadcrumbs, dried parsley, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and egg in a bowl. Form the mixture into 12 balls. 
  2. Saute onion and garlic in olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat until onion is translucent. Add peeled tomatoes. sugar, and bay leaf. Season with salt. Reduce heat to low. Simmer for 90 minutes, covered. Add tomato paste, 1/2 tsp pepper, basil, and 12 meatballs. Continue cooking for half an hour. Serve with spaghetti. Enjoy your authentic Italian Meatballs!
