DIRECTIONS
  1. Preheat oven to 400° F (200° C).
  2. Mix softened butter, 1 1/2 cups white sugar, shortening, eggs, and vanilla extract. Add flour, soda, cream of tartar, and salt. Mix well. Shape into balls.
  3. Mix 2 tbsps white sugar and cinnamon. Roll dough balls in the cinnamon mixture. Place dough balls 2 inches apart on baking sheets.
  4. Bake for about 10 minutes (until set). Remove from baking sheets. Serve and enjoy your Chewy Snickerdoodles!
