DIRECTIONS
  1. Combine chopped tomatoes, 1 slice onion, whole cloves, and chicken broth in a stockpot over medium heat.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil and continue gently boiling for 20 minutes. Remove from heat. Run the tomato mixture through a food mill into a pan.
  3. Melt butter over medium heat in a stockpot. Add flour and stir to make a roux. Cook until the roux turns medium brown. Carefully whisk in the tomato mixture.
  4. Season with sugar and salt. Serve. Enjoy your Easy Tomato Soup!
