DIRECTIONS
  1. Preheat the oven to 325° F (160° C/Gas mark 3). Prepare an 8x4 loaf pan by greasing it and lining it with parchment paper. 
  2. In a bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, ground cloves, and salt. 
  3. In another bowl, combine buttermilk with molasses. 
  4. Using an electric mixer, beat brown sugar and butter until fluffy (medium-high speed). Reduce to medium. Beat in vanilla extract and eggs. Reduce to low. Beat in the flour mixture and buttermilk mixture alternately, ending with the flour mixture. Fold in the chopped pear. Transfer the mixture to the loaf pan.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes. Use a toothpick to check for doneness: insert it in the center and check if it comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack. Serve and enjoy your Gingerbread Loaf!
