1 ½ cups, softened
- Add butter and sugar to a large bowl and cream until smooth.
- Add all the remaining ingredients (from eggs to salt), stir well, cover, and chill for 1 hour or overnight.
- Heat the oven to 400° F/200° C/Gas Mark 6.
- Flour a surface and roll out the dough on it ¼ to ½ inch thick. Cut into shapes using a cookie cutter.
- Place cookies on the ungreased cookie sheets, about 1 inch apart from each other.
- Bake for 6 to 8 minutes, cool, and serve.
