Very moist and chewy, these blonde brownies are an excellent fall dessert cooked with seasonal apples.
INGREDIENTS

Butter
½ cup, melted
White sugar
1 cup
1 egg
3 medium apples, peeled, cored, cut into small cubes
Chopped walnuts
½ cup
All-purpose flour
1 cup
Salt
¼ tsp.
Baking powder
½ tsp.
Baking soda
½ tsp.
Ground cinnamon
1 tsp.
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat oven to 350°F/180°F/Gas Mark 4.
- Lightly grease a 9x9 inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, whisk flour with salt, baking soda and powder, and cinnamon to aerate the mixture.
- Beat eggs with sugar until light and creamed. Beat in melted butter till fluffy.
- Gently fold the apples and walnuts into the wet mixture.
- Combine the wet and the dry mixtures and mix till just incorporated.
- Transfer the batter into the baking dish; spread evenly with a spatula.
- Bake for 35 minutes or until the blonde brownies pass the toothpick test.
