Very moist and chewy, these blonde brownies are an excellent fall dessert cooked with seasonal apples.

INGREDIENTS
Servings: 12
Butter
½ cup, melted
White sugar
1 cup
1 egg
3 medium apples, peeled, cored, cut into small cubes
Chopped walnuts
½ cup
All-purpose flour
1 cup
Salt
¼ tsp.
Baking powder
½ tsp.
Baking soda
½ tsp.
Ground cinnamon
1 tsp.
DIRECTIONS
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F/180°F/Gas Mark 4.
  2. Lightly grease a 9x9 inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk flour with salt, baking soda and powder, and cinnamon to aerate the mixture.
  4. Beat eggs with sugar until light and creamed. Beat in melted butter till fluffy.  
  5. Gently fold the apples and walnuts into the wet mixture.
  6. Combine the wet and the dry mixtures and mix till just incorporated.
  7. Transfer the batter into the baking dish; spread evenly with a spatula.
  8. Bake for 35 minutes or until the blonde brownies pass the toothpick test.
