Baked Ziti Recipe: This comfort food is made with pasta baked with Italian sausage, sauce, and gooey cheeses!

Ziti pasta
1 (16-oz) package
Mozzarella cheese, shredded
1 lb
Ricotta cheese
12 oz
Italian seasoning, divided
1 1/2 tsps
Italian sausage, casings removed
1 lb
Marinara sauce
2 (24 oz) jars
Basil, dried, divided
1 1/2 tsps
Salt
1 dash
Pepper
1 dash
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat oven to 350° F (175° C).
- Pour water into a large pot. Add salt and stir. Bring to a boil. Add pasta. Cook for 10 minutes (until al dente). Drain.
- Put Italian sausage in a deep skillet. Cook the sausage over medium-high heat until brown. Then, drain, crumble and set aside.
- Pour marinara sauce and add 1 tsp basil leaves to a saucepan. Heat until bubbling. Mix 1 tsp Italian seasoning, ricotta cheese, salt, and pepper.
- Prepare a 9x13-inch baking dish by spreading sauce. Layer half of the ziti, half of the cooked sausage, half of the ricotta cheese, and half the mozzarella cheese. Pour 1/2 of the sauce over the top. Layer ziti, sausage, ricotta, and mozzarella. Sprinkle with dried basil leaves and Italian seasoning.
- Bake for 40 minutes. Enjoy your Baked Ziti!
