This healthy and hearty recipe for breaded tofu is sure to turn you into a tofu fan!
INGREDIENTS
Servings: 4
Extra-firm tofu
1 (16 oz) package (drained and pressed)
Vegetable broth
2 cups
Ground black pepper
1/2 tsp
Sage
1 tsp
Cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp
Vegetable oil
3 tbsps
All-purpose flour
1/2 cup
Nutritional yeast
3 tbsps
Salt
1 tsp
DIRECTIONS
- Cut tofu into slices (1/2-inch). Cut into 1/2-inch wide pieces. Transfer pieces to a bowl. Pour broth and set aside.
- Stir together flour, yeast, sage, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper in a bowl.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Squeeze most of the liquid from tofu pieces. Roll them in breading.
- Put tofu in a skillet. Fry until crisp and browned. Serve. Enjoy your Breaded Tofu Nuggets!
