INGREDIENTS
Servings: 8
Beef brisket
4 lbs., lean
Liquid smoke flavoring
2 tbsp.
Onion salt
1 tbsp.
Garlic salt
1 tbsp.
Brown sugar
1 ½ tbsp..
Ketchup
1 cup
Butter
3 tbsp.
Water
¼ cup
Celery salt
½ tsp.
Liquid smoke flavoring
1 tbsp.
Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp.
Mustard powder
1 ½ tsp.
Salt
to taste
Pepper
to taste
DIRECTIONS
  1. Pour the liquid smoke over the brisket and rub it with onion and garlic salts.
  2. Pack brisket in foil and keep it in the fridge overnight.
  3. Heat the oven to 300° F/150° C/Gas Mark 2.
  4. Put the brisket in a baking dish, cover, and bake for 5 to 6 hours.
  5. Remove from the oven, cool, slice, and place the slices in the dish again.
  6. Combine all the remaining ingredients (from brown sugar to pepper) in a medium-sized saucepan, stir, and bring the mixture to a boil over a medium heat, stirring.
  7. Pour the sauce over the beef slices, cover, and bake for 1 more hour.
