Caramelized Onion and Gorgonzola Pizza

INGREDIENTS
Servings: 12
Butter
1/8 cup
2 large Vidalia onions, thinly sliced
Sugar
2 tsp.
1 (10 ounce) package refrigerated pizza dough
Gorgonzola cheese, crumbled
 1 pound
DIRECTIONS
  1. Melt butter over medium heat in a large skillet. Sauté onions until they are soft and dark brown, approximately 25 minutes. Add sugar, mix and continue cooking for 1 or 2 more minutes.
  2. Preheat oven to 425° F/ 220° C/Gas Mark 7.
  3. Grease a pizza pan or cookie sheet, and spread the dough out, pressing it to the desired thickness. Place an even layer of onions over the dough, and top with crumbled Gorgonzola.
  4. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until done.
