Maraschino cherries with stems

Corn syrup

3 tbsp

Sifted confectioners' sugar

2 cups

Chocolate confectioners' coating

1 lb

Butter

3 tbsps, softened

Drain cherries. Set them on paper towels.
Mix butter and syrup until smooth in a medium bowl. Add confectioners' sugar. Knead to form the dough.
Wrap cherries in 1 tsp of dough each. Chill to stiffen.
In a saucepan over low heat, melt chocolate confectioners' coating. Dip each cherry in the coating and arrange them on waxed paper-lined sheets.
Chill. In an airtight container, store in a cool place.
