Servings: 4
Ground beef
1 lb.
1 egg
Bread crumbs
¼ cup
Ground black pepper
1/8 tsp.
½ tsp.
Onion powder
½ tsp.
Garlic powder
½ tsp.
Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp.
Vegetable oil
1 tbsp.
1 cup, thinly sliced
All-purpose flour
2 tbsp.
Beef broth

Cooking sherry
1 tbsp.
½ tsp.
  1. Mix the first eight ingredients in a large bowl, form into 8 balls, and flatten into patties.
  2. Prepare a large skillet, add oil, and heat it over a medium heat. Place the patties and onion in the skillet until they’re browned or for about 4 minutes per side.
  3. Put patties on a plate and keep them warm.
  4. Add flour to the onions and drippings and stir it with a fork.
  5. Add beef broth and sherry gradually and mix well. Season the mixture with salt.
  6. Simmer over a medium-low heat stirring occasionally for about 5 minutes or until the gravy becomes thicker.
  7. Reduce the heat, put patties to the gravy, cover with a lid, a simmer for about 15 minutes.
