Olive oil
2 tbsp.
2, small, chopped
Bulk Italian sausage
¼ lb.
Ground beef
1 lb.
Dried Italian herb seasoning
1 tsp.
Garlic powder
1 tsp.
Dried marjoram
½ tsp.
Tomato sauce
1 (29 oz.) can
Tomato paste
1 (6 oz.) can
Diced tomatoes
1 (14.5 oz.) can, Italian-style
Stewed tomatoes
1 (14.5 oz.) can, Italian-style
Dried thyme leaves
¼ tsp.
Dried basil
¼ tsp.
Dried oregano
½ tsp.
Garlic powder
2 tsp.
White sugar
1 tbsp.
  1. Pour olive oil into a skillet a heat over a medium heat.
  2. Add onions and Italian sausage and cook, stirring, for about 10 minutes or until the sausage is brown.
  3. Place onion and sausage in a slow cooker.
  4. Take the same skillet and add ground beef, Italian seasoning, garlic powder (1 tsp.), and marjoram. Cook, stirring and breaking the meat up for about 10 minutes or until the meat is browned.
  5. Add the ground beef mixture to the slow cooker.
  6. Add all the other ingredients but white sugar to the slow cooker, set on Low, and cook for 8 hours.
  7. 15 minutes before the dish is ready, add sugar and stir well. Serve while hot.
