INGREDIENTS

White sugar
1/2 cup
Peppermint candy canes,
2, crushed (optional)
Egg whites
2
Salt
1/8 tsp
Cream of tartar
1/8 tsp
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat oven to 225° F (110° C). Prepare two baking sheets by lining them with foil.
- Beat egg whites, cream of tartar, and salt to soft peaks in a mixing bowl. Slowly add white sugar Beat to stiff peaks. Drop by spoonfuls on the baking sheets. Sprinkle with peppermint candies.
- Bake for 1 1/2 hours until completely dry on the inside. Turn off the oven. Keep the oven door ajar and allow the meringue cookies to cool completely. Use a spatula to loosen from the foil. Enjoy your Meringue Cookies!
