This easy crowd pleaser is amazing for both an outdoor picnic and a quick family dinner!
INGREDIENTS
Servings: 6
Pork roast
3-4 lbs., boneless (shoulder or butt)
Black pepper
1 tsp.
Salt
1 tsp.
Ground cumin
1 tsp.
Cayenne pepper
½ tsp.
Paprika
1 tsp.
Green bell pepper
1, medium-sized, sliced
Barbecue sauce
1 (18 oz.) jar
Packed brown sugar
½ cup
Onion
1, medium-sized, sliced
Sandwich buns
as needed
DIRECTIONS
- Add all spices (from black pepper to paprika) to a bowl and rub them onto the roast. Let the roast marinate for several hours to overnight.
- Put bell pepper, onion, and pork roast in a slow cooker.
- In a separate dish, combine barbecue sauce and brown sugar. Pour the mixture over the roast.
- Cover and cook on Low for 8 to 10 hours or until the meat can be easily shredded with a fork.
