INGREDIENTS

Short-grain white rice, uncooked
2 cups
Water
2 cups
Rice vinegar
6 tbsps
White sugar
1/2 cup
Cooked luncheon meat
1 (12 oz) container
Sushi nori (dry seaweed)
5 sheets
Vegetable oil
2 tbsps
Soy sauce
1/4 cup
Oyster sauce
1/4 cup
DIRECTIONS
- Soak rice for about 4 hours. Drain rice and rinse.
- Pour 2 cups water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and add rice. Stir. Reduce heat and simmer for about 20 minutes, covered. Add rice vinegar. Set it aside.
- Combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar in a separate bowl. Slice meat lengthwise into 10 slices and keep it in the sauce for 5 minutes.
- Heat oil over medium-high heat in a large skillet. Cook meat for 2 minutes.
- Cut nori in half and place them on a work surface. Put a rice press in the center and press rice inside. Top with meat and remove the rice press.
- Wrap nori sheet around rice mold. Use water to seal edges. Serve warm or chilled.
