INGREDIENTS
Servings: 10
Short-grain white rice, uncooked
2 cups
Water
2 cups
Rice vinegar
6 tbsps
White sugar
1/2 cup
Cooked luncheon meat
1 (12 oz) container
Sushi nori (dry seaweed)
5 sheets
Vegetable oil
2 tbsps
Soy sauce
1/4 cup
Oyster sauce
1/4 cup
DIRECTIONS
  1. Soak rice for about 4 hours. Drain rice and rinse.
  2. Pour 2 cups water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and add rice. Stir. Reduce heat and simmer for about 20 minutes, covered. Add rice vinegar. Set it aside.
  3. Combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar in a separate bowl. Slice meat lengthwise into 10 slices and keep it in the sauce for 5 minutes.
  4. Heat oil over medium-high heat in a large skillet. Cook meat for 2 minutes.
  5. Cut nori in half and place them on a work surface. Put a rice press in the center and press rice inside. Top with meat and remove the rice press.
  6. Wrap nori sheet around rice mold. Use water to seal edges. Serve warm or chilled.
