INGREDIENTS

Extra-virgin olive oil
2 tbsp
Cheddar cheese
1 cup, shredded
Yellow onion
1, chopped
Garlic
2 cloves, minced
Ground beef
1 lb
Salt
to taste
Ground black pepper
to taste
Tomato paste
1 tbsp
Beef broth
1 1/4 cup
Tomato sauce
1 (15-oz) can
Diced tomatoes
1 (15-oz) can
Italian seasoning
1 tbsp
Paprika
1 tsp
Elbow macaroni
1 1/2 cup
Parsley
for garnish, chopped
DIRECTIONS
- Heat olive oil in a skillet. Cook onion for 5 min, until soft. Add minced garlic cloves. Keep cooking for 1 minute.
- Add beef; cook for 6 min, until the beef is no longer pink. Drain fat. Return the beef to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Add tomato paste. Stir. Add beef broth, tomato sauce, and tomatoes. Season with the paprika and seasoning. Add elbow macaroni. Bring to a simmer. Cook for 15 min, until the macaroni is tender. Add Cheddar. Stir. Remove from heat.
- Before serving your American Goulash, garnish with chopped parsley.
