Beer Bread Recipe: Serve this moist beer bread with corned beef and cabbage.

Quick-cooking oats
1 cup
Whole wheat flour
2 1/4 cups
All-purpose flour
1/4 cup
Dark brown sugar
1/2 cup
Baking soda
2 1/4 tsp

Extra stout beer
1 (11-oz) bottle (room temperature)
Buttermilk
1 cup, shaken
Unsalted butter
5 tbsp, melted, plus for the pan
Vanilla extract
1 tsp
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat the oven to 450° F (220° C/Gas mark 8). Brush a loaf pan with butter.
- Combine oats, whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, brown sugar, and baking soda.
- Whisk together beer, butter (5 tbsp), and vanilla extract in another bowl. Make a well in the dry mixture. Pour the beer mixture into it. Stir the mixture from the middle to the outside until mixed.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared pan. Sprinkle with oats. Place in the oven.
- Turn the oven temperature to 400° F (200° C/Gas mark 6). Bake for 45 minutes. Use a toothpick to check for doneness: insert it in the center and check if it comes out clean. Turn onto a baking rack. Let the Easy Beer Bread cool completely.
