These scalloped potatoes are so delicious and easy to cook!
INGREDIENTS
Servings: 6
Potatoes
4 cups, thinly sliced
Butter
3 tbsp.
Flour
3 tbsp.
Milk
1 ½ cups
Slat
1 tsp.
Cayenne pepper
1 dash
Sharp cheddar cheese
1 cup, grated
Cheese
½ cup, grated, to sprinkle
Paprika
for color
DIRECTIONS
- Heat the oven to 350° F/175° C/Gas Mark 4.
- Add butter to a small saucepan and melt it. Blend in flour and let the mixture sit for a minute.
- Whisking, add the cold milk. Season the mixture with salt and cayenne pepper.
- Bring the sauce to a boil on low and cook until smooth. Stir occasionally.
- Reduce the heat and add cheese. Stir well.
- Lightly grease a 1-quart casserole dish and put half of the potatoes in it. Pour half of the milk sauce over it.
- Repeat the process with potatoes and sauce.
- Sprinkle with the rest of the cheese, top with paprika, and bake for about 1 hour.
