INGREDIENTS
Servings: 8
All-purpose flour
1 cup
Cornstarch
2 tbsp.
Baking powder
1 tsp.
Salt
½ tsp.
Egg
1
Beer
1 cup
Plain yogurt
½ cup
Mayonnaise
½ cup
Lime
1, juiced
Jalapeno pepper
1, minced
Capers
1 tsp., minced
Dried oregano
½ tsp.
Ground cumin
½ tsp.
Dried dill weed
½ tsp.
Ground cayenne pepper
1 tsp.
Oil for frying
1 quart
Cod fillets
1 lb., cut into 2 to 3 portions
Medium head cabbage
½, finely shredded
DIRECTIONS
  1. Combine the first four ingredients (from flour to salt) in a large bowl. Combine egg and beer in a separate bowl and quickly add to the flour mixture, stirring.
  2. For the white sauce, combine yogurt and mayonnaise in a medium-sized bowl. Add the juice of lime slowly until the consistency is a bit runny. Season with the next six ingredients (from jalapeno to cayenne pepper).
  3. Add oil to a deep-fryer and heat it to 375° F/190° C.
  4. Lightly dust the fish pieces with flour, dip them into the beer batter and fry in the deep-fryer until golden brown and crisp. Place on paper towels to drain.
  5. Fry the tortillas but not too much.
  6. Place the fried fish in a tortilla and top with cabbage and sauce.
