This traditional Scottish dish is destined to become a part of your favorite family dinner! Made of the simplest ingredients, it’s able to produce incredible effect!
INGREDIENTS

Potatoes
1 lb., peeled, cut into chunks
Cabbage
2 cups, shredded
1 carrot, grated
1 onion, minced
Prepared yellow mustard
1 tsp.
Shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
½ cup
Salt
to taste
Pepper
to taste
DIRECTIONS
- Put the sliced potatoes in a saucepan and add enough water for it to cover the potatoes.
- Bring potatoes to a boil and simmer them over a medium heat until they become tender enough and can be easily pierced with a fork, or for about 10 min.
- Drain potatoes, mash them, and set aside.
- Meanwhile, use another saucepan to combine cabbage and carrot. Add just enough water to cover the bottom of the pan.
- Cook over a medium heat for about 5 min, or until the mixture is tender.
- Drain off liquid, add mashed potatoes, and stir the mixture.
- Add onion, mustard, and shredded Cheddar cheese. Season the mixture with salt and pepper.
- Make four patties of the mixture.
- Grease a grill pan and heat it over a medium-high heat. Put the patties on the pan and grill until golden brown, or for about 5 min on each side. Serve while hot.
