INGREDIENTS

Buttermilk 
2 cup
Hot sauce 
1 tbsp
Salt 
1 tsp
Ground black pepper 
1 tsp
Catfish fillets 
1 1/2 lb
Vegetable oil 
for frying
Yellow cornmeal 
1 1/2 cup
All-purpose flour 
  1/4 cup
Salt 
1 tbsp
Ground black pepper 
1 tsp
Paprika 
1/2 tsp
Garlic powder 
1/2 tsp
DIRECTIONS
  1. Mix buttermilk, hot sauce, salt (1 tsp), and ground black pepper (1 tsp) in a bowl. Add the fish. Cover. Refrigerate for 2 hours. 
  2. Whisk together cornmeal, all-purpose flour, salt (1 tbsp), ground black pepper (1 tsp), paprika, and garlic powder in a bowl. Remove the fish from the buttermilk mixture and dredge in the cornmeal. Arrange on the baking sheet. Line a plate with paper towels. 
  3. Fill a pot halfway with oil. Over medium, heat to 350° F (180° C). Fry the fish for 5 minutes, or until golden. Transfer the fish to the prepared plate. Season with salt. Serve and enjoy your Crispy Catfish!
