Foolproof Pizza Dough

Active dry yeast
1 packet
Extra virgin olive oil
2 tbsps
Kosher salt
1 tsp
All-purpose flour
3 cups + for dusting
1 cup, slightly warm
Equipment: mixer with a dough hook
  1. Pour water into the bowl of the mixer, sprinkle with yeast, set aside for 5 minutes. Make sure the water is not too hot, or it will spoil the yeast.
  2. When the mixture gets foamy, add oil, flour, and salt. Start mixing on low till a ball form.
  3. Dust the work surface with flour. Knead the dough ball with your hands on this surface until smooth.
  4. Brush the dough with olive oil. Place it in a bowl and keep in a warm place for an hour or so, until doubled in size.
  5. Cut the dough in half. Use one half to cook the Deep Dish Vegetable Pizza, and freeze the other half in a sealable freezer bag. It will keep for up to 3 months.
