French Bread Pizzas are a great lazy day's dinner idea!
INGREDIENTS

Italian rolls or Deli rolls

Marinara or pizza sauce
1 jar
Pesto
1 jar
Mozzarella cheese
2 lb., grated
Parmesan cheese
to taste, grated
Butter
2 tbsp.
Onion
1, sliced, caramelized, or fresh
Breakfast or Italian sausage
½ lb.
Sliced pepperoni
to taste
Sliced Canadian bacon
to taste
Fresh or canned pineapple slices (optional)
to taste
Sliced plum tomato
to taste
Black olives
to taste
DIRECTIONS
- While preheating oven to 375°F/190°C/Gas Mark 5, slice up the rolls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet, cut side up. If you want your pizzas more deep-dish style, scoop a little of the soft part out.
- Spread the sauce (pizza, marinara, or pesto) on top of the roll halves.
- Sprinkle generously with grated cheese of your choice.
- Layer the toppings you prefer.
- Once you finish with toppings, place the baking sheet onto the lowest rack of the preheated oven and bake for 8 to 10 minutes. Then increase the heat to 425°F/220°C/Gas Mark 7, and transfer the baking sheet onto the highest rack. Let sit for a couple of minutes until the cheese is light golden and bubbly.
- Serve hot, whole or cut in half.
