INGREDIENTS
Servings: 6
All-purpose flour
1 cup
Quick cooking oats
1 cup
Brown sugar
¼ cup
Baking powder
2 tsp.
Ground cinnamon
¼ tsp.
Ground cloves
¼ tsp.
Salt
½ tsp.
Milk
1 cup
Egg
1
Canned pumpkin
¾ cup
Vegetable oil
2 tbsp.
Melted chocolate
1/4 cup
Butter, for the skillet
DIRECTIONS
  1. Mix oats with flour, brown sugar, salt, spices, and baking powder.
  2. In another bowl, beat egg with milk, pumpkin, and vegetable oil.
  3. Combine both mixtures; mix until just incorporated.
  4. Reserve 1/3 cup of the batter and mix it with melted chocolate. Add water to thin the mixture out until pourable and transfer to a small squeeze bottle.
  5. Pour uncolored batter (1/3 cup at a time) onto a hot buttered nonstick skillet. Pipe the chocolate batter over the plain batter to form a scary design. Cook until bubbly (1 minute), flip, cook for another minute. Repeat with the remaining batter.
