Herring Forshmak
INGREDIENTS

2 herrings, fillets separated
Sugar
1 tsp
Vegetable oil
4 tbsp
Vinegar
1 tbsp

3 hard-boiled eggs, yolks separated from whites
1 sour apple, peeled and cored
White bread
3 pieces, soaked in water or milk (squeeze out the liquid before using)
Chopped scallions
to taste
DIRECTIONS
- Blend the herring fillets, apple, egg whites, and bread. Mix in oil and vinegar. Crumble yolks and scallions on top of the mixture and put in the fridge.
- Serve on Russian black bread or crackers.
