Perfect as a summer dessert of coffeecake! Can be cooked any season, though.
INGREDIENTS

White sugar
¾ cup
Shortening
¼ cup
Egg

All-purpose flour
2 cups
Baking powder
2 tsp.
Salt
½ tsp.
Milk
½ cup
Blueberries
2 cups
Sugar
½ cup
All-purpose flour
1/3 cup
Ground cinnamon
½ tsp.
Butter
¼ cup, softened
DIRECTIONS
- Heat the oven to 375° F/190° C/Gas Mark 5.
- Prepare an 8x8 inch pan and grease it.
- Combine the first 3 ingredients (from sugar to egg) and cream them together.
- In a separate bowl, combine the next 3 ingredients (from flour to salt). Stir into the sugar mixture alternately with milk.
- Add blueberries and put the batter into the pan.
- Combine the remaining ingredients (from sugar to butter) and sprinkle the mixture over the batter.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
