DIRECTIONS
  1. Preheat oven to 375° F (190° C/Gas mark 5).
  2. Cook beef and sausage in a saute pan over medium-high, stirring occasionally, until slightly browned. Add onions, garlic, and oregano. Cook for 4 minutes, or until softened. Add tomato paste. Stir. Cook for half a minute. Add tomatoes. Cook for 5 minutes, or until the mixture has thickened. Remove from heat.
  3. In a bowl, beat eggs. Add ricotta cheese, mozzarella (1 cup), Parmesan cheese (1/3 cup), chopped basil, and oregano. Season with salt and ground black pepper to taste. Stir.
  4. Spread the sauce on the bottom of a baking dish. Place a layer of noodles over the sauce. Top with a third of the cheese mixture. Make another layer of the sauce. Top with noodles. Make 2 more layers of the cheese, sauce, and noodles, finishing with the noodle layer. Top with a bit of sauce. Sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Cover with foil.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes. Remove the foil. Then, bake for 15 minutes, until the cheese is golden. Before serving, allow the lasagna to stand for 10 minutes.
