INGREDIENTS

Shortening
2 tbsp.
White sugar
3 tbsp.
Hot water
1 cup
Active dry yeast
1 (.25 oz.) package
1 egg, beaten
Salt
1 tsp.
All-purpose flour
2 ¼ cups
DIRECTIONS
  1. Combine the first three ingredients (from shortening to sugar) in a large bowl, let it get warm, and add yeast until dissolved.
  2. Add all the remaining ingredients (from egg to flour), mix well, and let the dough rise until it grows in size twice.
  3. Prepare 8 muffin cups, place the dough in the cups, and let it rise again until it grows in size twice.
  4. Heat the oven to 425° F/220° C/Gas Mark 7, place the dough in the muffin cup in the oven, and bake for 10 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
