Distilled white vinegar

All-purpose flour

Unsweetened cocoa powder

Red food coloring
1 fluid oz
Vanilla extract

Baking soda

DIRECTIONS
- Preheat oven to 350° F (175° C).
- Grease two 12-cup muffin pans.
- Using an electric mixer, mix butter and sugar until fluffy in a large bowl. Add eggs, buttermilk, food coloring, vanilla extract, baking soda, and vinegar.
- Mix flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Stir the mixture into the batter. Spoon the batter into the cups.
- Bake for about 20 minutes (the tops of the muffins should spring back when pressed). Let the muffins cool in a pan set over a wire rack. After that, add the desired frosting.
