Milk

Egg yolks

Heavy cream
1 cup
Ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp
Ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp
Vanilla extract
1/2 tsp
Rum
1 cup
Whipped cream
for serving
DIRECTIONS
- Bring milk, ground cinnamon, vanilla extract, and nutmeg to a low boil in a saucepan over low.
- Meanwhile, combine egg yolks with sugar. Whisk together until the egg yolks are pale. Carefully add the milk mixture. Whisk until combined.
- Return to the saucepan. Cook over medium until slightly thick. Remove from heat. Add heavy cream and rum. Refrigerate until chilled. Before serving, garnish the eggnog with whipped cream if desired.
