These potatoes are sweet, buttery, and extra saucy!
INGREDIENTS
Servings: 12
Large sweet potatoes
6, peeled, cut into slices
Butter
1/2 cup
White sugar
2 cups
Ground cinnamon
1 tsp
Ground nutmeg
1 tsp
Vanilla extract
1 tbsp
Salt
to taste
DIRECTIONS
- In a heavy skillet, melt the butter and add potatoes.
- Combine the sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Cover the potatoes with sugar and cinnamon mixture. Stir.
- Cover the skillet. Reduce heat to low. Stirring occasionally, cook for about one hour until the sweet potatoes are candied and the sauce turns dark.
- Just before serving, stir in the vanilla. Serve.
