This is probably the most comforting and cheesy homemade Mac and Cheese in the world.
INGREDIENTS

Vegetable oil
1 tbsp
Butter
2 tbsp
All-purpose flour
3 tbsp
Whole milk
1 1/2 cups
Cheddar cheese
3 cups, shredded
Ground cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp
Ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp
Salt
to taste
Elbow macaroni
1 lb, cooked to al dente
DIRECTIONS
- Heat a deep skillet over medium. Add vegetable oil. Add butter. Stir and cook until the butter melts. Add flour. Stir to combine. Whisking, cook for 3 minutes, or until smooth.
- Whisking, gradually add milk. Stirring, bring the milk to a bubble. When the milk thickens, gradually add cheese (2 cups).
- Season with cayenne pepper and nutmeg. Add the macaroni. Stir to coat.
- Transfer the Mac and Cheese to a baking dish. Top with Cheddar (1 cup). Place the dish under a hot broiler. Allow the cheese to brown. Serve and enjoy your tasty Mac and Cheese!
