In a saucepan, heat olive oil. Saute chopped onion and garlic until they are tender.
Add chopped broccoli, potato, and broth. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and continue cooking for about 15 minutes (until tender).
Transfer the mixture to a blender, puree until smooth. Return the mixture to the saucepan. Reheat. Season your Broccoli Soup with nutmeg, salt, and pepper to taste. Serve. Enjoy!
