Warm water
½ cup (about 110° F/45° C)
Warm milk
½ cup
Egg
1
Butter
1/3 cup, softened
White sugar
1/3 cup
Salt
1 tsp.
All-purpose flour
3 ¾ cups
Active dry yeast
1 (0.25 oz.)
Butter
¼ cup, softened
DIRECTIONS
- Add all but the last ingredient (from water to yeast) to the pan of your bread machine in the order that’s recommended by the manufacturer.
- Choose Dough/Knead and First Rise Cycle and press the Start button.
- When the cycle is over, flour a surface lightly and turn the dough on it. Divide the dough into half.
- Roll each dough half into a 12-inch circle and spread the rest of butter over the round. Divide the circle into 8 wedges.
- Starting at wide end, roll the wedges gently yet tightly. Put them on an ungreased cookie sheet, point side down. Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let the dough rise for 1 hour in a warm place.
- Meanwhile, heat the oven to 400° F/200° C/Gas Mark 6. Bake the rolls for 10 to 15 minutes or until golden.
